This movie is about a group of African American soldiers who kidnap a small Italian boy and drag him from one side of Italy to the next during World War II.
After watching another Spike Lee movie, it makes me realize that no matter how much time has passed he still hates white people.
I always feel wrong and guilty after watching most of his movies. Like, Should I personally fly down to Compton and apologize to the guy? I don't know what I did wrong but come on man. We cool?
The guy made this movie to settle a personal vendetta with Clint Eastwood. As seen here. The movies alright, but It's not even in the same league as "Saving Private Ryan" or "Enemy at the Gates".
This movie had it's great moments, and it's very bad moments. I can't wait to see Spike Lee's next Oscar contender "The rise and fall of the Korean Grocery Store" coming direct to DVD.
But seriously, this movie should have been 100x better. The story is there, The actors were there. But the script could not deliver, and the director was too concerned with personal vendettas than making a good memorable movie.
When Spike's reparations check comes in the mail, I want my money back.
